Nordic Chamber Orchestra – Clarinet Section Leader

Scenkonst Västernorrland AB is an institution under the county council of Västernorrland and Sundsvall municipality. We produce and support the performing arts (dance, film, music and theater) in the region. We have a strong focus on productions and activities for children and young people. Our mission is also to offer a wide range of performing art throughout Västernorrland, with quality and variation.

Nordic Chamber Orchestra (Nordiska Kammarorkestern) is located – and has it’s main stage – in Sundsvall, Sweden. The orchestra performs in all seven regional county municipalities, and also nationally and internationally. The orchestra is further developing its collaboration with composers for the management and redevelopment of Western Art music.

We are looking for a clarinet player, section leader. The service is a permanent position, 50% service in Nordic Chamber Orchestra and 50% chamber music in Nordic Wind Quintet.

Audition dates

The audition will take place by personal invitation on Thursday 9thJanuary and possibly on Friday 10th January 2020.  
The orchestral excerpts will be sent along with orchestral excerpts and notes for ensemble samples.

Orchestral and ensemble excerpts will be sent to accepted applicants in connection with audition call.

Compulsory works:
W.A. Mozart: Clarinet concerto A-dur KV 622 (1st & 2nd movement), optional cadenza in 1stmovement. 2ndmovement without cadenza.
Claude Debussy: Première Rapsodie

The employment

We offer a fulltime and permanent contract from 1st of August 2020 or as agreed.
